The Comparison of Coleman Furnaces with Other Brands
In the comparison of Coleman furnaces with other leading brands of HVAC in the market, there are some important factors that are involved. This is a detailed comparison in various aspects:
Pricing
Coleman furnaces tend to be in the middle price range, with a good value to price ratio. Coleman furnaces are usually 14-21 percent cheaper than premium brands such as Carrier and Lennox, but Coleman furnaces are reliable. They are however a little more expensive than the low end brands like Goodman and Payne.
Energy Efficiency
The high-efficiency models of Coleman go up to 97 percent AFUE that is competitive with other leading brands. Although this is as efficient as Trane and American Standard, it is a little bit lower than the best models of Lennox that achieve 98.7 percent AFUE. Nevertheless, the mid-range models (80-95% AFUE) of Coleman are similar to the Rheem and York ones.
Warranty Coverage
The warranty on heat exchangers provided by Coleman is lifetime limited and the warranty on parts is 10 years, which is standard in the industry. This is the same as what Bryant and Carrier provide but more than others in the economy brand that usually provide 5-year warranties. Nevertheless, Goodman lifetime compressor warranty is still better in this regard than Coleman.

Customer Satisfaction and Reliability
According to consumer reports and industry statistics, Coleman furnaces have above average reliability ratings. Their repair rates are lower than the budget brands but a little higher than the premium brands such as Trane and Carrier. The customer satisfaction scores are usually 3.8-4.2 out of 5 which makes them average among the large manufacturers.
Support and Installation Network
Although large, Coleman dealer network is not as large as that of Carrier or Lennox. They however have good relations with certified contractors and offer good technical support. The availability of parts in the brand is good but not immediate as some of the larger manufacturers who have a more extensive distribution network.
These comparisons indicate that Coleman furnaces are a good deal to homeowners who want to have a good performance without paying top dollar. They may not be the leaders in any particular category, but they are competitive in all the key areas of furnace performance and ownership.

Contractor’s Reviews For Coleman
The Coleman gas furnaces encompass the single stage, two stage and the modulating furnaces. Despite only having three models that are Energy Star rated, Coleman gas furnaces have an excellent volume of air output. The modulating models are excellent for warming the house in the morning. They don’t blast at full force but instead increase the heat gradually over a period of 15 minutes giving a nice wake-up call.
