Here are key features of Haier window air conditioners:
24-hour Timers with Delayed Start
These timers allow you to control when the unit turns on and how long it runs. This convenience also conserves energy, so the unit isn’t cooling unoccupied space.
Timers are available on QHM, QHC, QHQ and ESAQ Series window units.
Wi-fi
Using wi-fi with the Haier app allows you to monitor and control the AC from any smart device anywhere. Like timers, wi-fi helps control energy usage while ensuring that the room or zone is cool and comfortable when you arrive home. If you forget to turn off or adjust the AC, it’s easy with the app.
Wi-fi is available on the six Haier QHC window air conditioners.
Basic Comfort Features
Like most top window units, all but the QHV unit have multispeed fans, adjustable air louvers and digital control and display.
Features Not Available on Haier Window Air Conditioners
Here are a couple features you’ll find on other brands, but not Haier.
Inverter-type Compressors: Inverter-controlled compressors are a staple of the mini split (ductless) AC market. LG uses this technology in its top window units. The benefit is precisely balanced cooling and higher energy efficiency than is possible with the rotary compressors used in most window air conditioners.
Heat: The Kühl Y-Series window units include true heat pump technology that provides heating that is much more efficient and comfortable than the electric resistance heating elements found in some window air conditioners.
Most other brands have at least a few models with electric space heaters included.
R32 Refrigerant: Most window ACs use R410A refrigerant. It doesn’t deplete ozone, but has a relatively high global warming potential (GWP=2,088). R32 doesn’t deplete ozone and has a GWP of 675. Most LG and some Friedrich window units use R32.
Ionizers: Among the top brands, only the Frigidaire FGRC Series has ionizer technology. An ionizer electronically charges small particles in the air, so they can be more easily trapped in the filter. Ionizers are a type of air cleaner.
Casement/Sliding Window Models: Among top brands, only the Frigidaire FFRS Series are designed for these windows.
