HoMedics is a well-known brand in the world of personal wellness products. In fact, you may already own one of their massagers, exfoliators, or footbaths. They don’t specialize in one particular area but do carry a bit of everything, including a lineup of around a dozen systems designed to humidify small to medium-sized rooms.

While some humidifier manufacturers produce cool mist, warm mist, and evaporative systems, HoMedics only makes one type of machine. This company’s sole focus is on ultrasonic systems, although they have a handful of humidifiers that are capable of dispersing both warm and cool mist.

HoMedics Cool Mist Humidifiers

At this time, HoMedics currently has nine humidifiers that are ultrasonic and produce a cool mist. One of their more unique systems is the HoMedics UHE-WB01 Portable Humidifier. This is a unique bottle-less humidifier that allows you to use standard water or soda bottle that’s 20 ounces or less. That makes it easy to carry around compared to other smaller humidifiers, and it can provide around 9 hours of runtime.

HoMedics UHE-CM15

The UHE-WB01 also has adjustable mist control and an auto-shutoff feature, which is impressive for its size. Another portable humidifier is the HoMedics UHE-CM15, which is a 1.4-pint system with a single speed. It’s easy to use and keep clean, and there’s a smoke-colored variant in the UHE-SM15-SO as well. Both systems can run for up to 10 hours, which will get most folks through the night.

As for the smallest HoMedics humidifier, that would be the HoMedics HUM-CM10. This little machine only holds 200ml of water, which gives it a runtime of 4 hours. It isn’t adjustable, but it is incredibly easy to use and truly portable, as it can be powered from a USB port. If you’re interested in a humidifier with a few more features, the next tier of cool mist humidifiers is your best bet.

Starting with the HoMedics UHE-CM18, the company’s humidifiers begin to get a new range of features. They include multiple speeds or modes, a nightlight, timer, and demineralization cartridges. The UHE-CM18 is the most affordable of these ultrasonic systems with a 0.5-gallon tank, a 360° nozzle, and two speeds. It can go for up to 25 hours on low and has a nightlight that shines in seven different colors.

If you’re interested in a machine with a more modern look, the HoMedics UHE-CMTF28 will be more up your alley. It’s in the premium class, so you’ll get the 360° nozzle and three speeds, and a 12-hour timer. It can go for up to 36 hours, but the big draw aside from the design is the diffusion tray, which can be used for essential oils.

The HoMedics UHE-CM25 is a simple, but large humidifier with a runtime of 45 hours thanks to a removable 1-gallon water tank. It’s adjustable, with a solid set of standard features, although not quite as capable or interesting as versatile the HoMedics TotalComfort Humidifier UHE-CM65.

Homedics UHE-OC1

HoMedics UHE-OC1

This system has a 1.4-gallon tank and four speeds with a runtime of 65 hours. Alternatively, the HoMedics UHE-OC1 is a unique option if you are tight on space. This system has a small oscillating head that rotates 120° or can be set in one direction. While it doesn’t have as many speeds as some of their other models, the 1-gallon tank is good for 48 hours of usage.

HoMedics 2-in-1 Humidifiers

Cool mist humidifiers may be the most widely available, but there are millions of homeowners interested in warm mist systems as well. HoMedics doesn’t manufacture any of those machines, but they do have a lineup of 2-in-1 humidifiers that are capable of producing micro-fine warm or cool mist depending on your needs.

HoMedics UHE-WM70

HoMedics UHE-WM70 Warm & Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier

For areas up to 400 square feet, the HoMedics UHE-WM70 is an excellent option with a 1.7-gallon dual water tank. It can run continuously for up to 80 hours depending on the settings but is dwarfed by the HoMedics UHE-WM130 when it comes to runtime. This sleek system has five settings, a digital display, and can run up to 120 hours. It also has an essential oil tray and a programmable humidistat.

One of the largest systems warm and cool mist system from a coverage standpoint is the HoMedics UHE-WM85. It has a modern design that will look great in any room, a programmable humidistat, and an 8-hour timer. It can handle rooms around 625 square feet and run for around 65 hours before needing to be refilled. The HoMedics UHE-WM81 can run for just as long but has a completely different design that includes six speeds, and an essential oil tray.

While the HoMedics UHE-WM10 doesn’t measure up to the other warm and cool mist systems when it comes to runtime, it can do something the other models can’t. With an extension wand, you can transform this humidifier from a tabletop system to a floor-standing model in seconds. When you factor in the essential oil tray and multiple settings, the UHE-WM10 is one of their most versatile systems for the price.

HoMedics Humidifier Features

The type of features found on a HoMedics humidifier depends on the model you choose. That’s a common practice regardless of the company or product line. HoMedics does bring a sense of conformity to their lineup, however. You can expect some nifty features once you reach a certain price point, while others are standard on every system.

Whether you purchase a large 2-in-1 humidifier from HoMedics or a tiny tabletop cool mist system, all their humidifiers have Clean Tank Technology. They don’t go into detail on what this entails, but it’s supposed to make cleaning easy while keeping mildew or mold from building up in the tank. Automatic shut-off is another common feature along with demineralization cartridges.

Nightlights are also an option on some systems but typically found on the mid-range and premium humidifiers from HoMedics. You’ll find more speeds on those machines as well, and several come with 8 or 12-hour timers. Flagship features found throughout their line include essential oil trays, LCD displays, remote controls, and humidistats.

HoMedics Humidifier Reviews

It’s difficult to decide what to make of HoMedics humidifier reviews. There are a number of premium models with mediocre ratings, while the mid-range systems fare somewhat better. Reviews for their budget-friendly humidifiers are mixed as well and received relatively poor reviews on the HoMedics website.

When our team of expert researchers dug a bit deeper, we found most complaints were due to units simply not working. In some cases, it was out of commission after being taken out of the box, while other homeowners said their system only worked occasionally. There was no middle ground with HoMedics humidifiers and units with quality control issues. People either loved them or hated them.

Problems with premium and mid-range units are more scattered. We saw plenty related to pricing or issues with certain features. Again, the reviews vary from one site to the next, but some of the company’s humidifiers are definitely better than others.

HoMedics Humidifier Warranties

You’ll get a 1-year guarantee from HoMedics on their humidifiers regardless of price or size. There may be a few exceptions, but all of the humidifiers we saw listed came with a 1-year guarantee. The company has a replacement parts section on their official site with a mixed array of goods. You will be able to find demineralization cartridges, wicks, and oil pads, but actual parts are few and far between.

HoMedics Humidifier Pricing and Availability

It’s always difficult to set your mind on a product only to find it out of stock locally or unavailable online. Aside from a few models like the UHE-WM81, which is a Walmart exclusive, there are well over a dozen places to pick up a HoMedics humidifier.

Amazon, Wayfair, and Bed, Bath & Beyond are popular options online while Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, and Target have these systems in stock locally. HoMedics humidifier pricing may feel a bit aggressive on the high-end but is reasonable once you consider the features, capacity, and 2-in-1 capabilities of some of their humidifiers.

Pros and Cons of HoMedics Humidifiers

HoMedics has several unique systems that set them apart from similar brands Honeywell, Crane, and Vornado. We felt they have a nice range of features for the price with their more expensive machines. The timers and nightlights are a nice touch, and their systems have long runtimes as well.

Another obvious perk is their dual-purpose systems and the fact several of their humidifiers have an essential oil tray. We also liked the fact that even their simplest machines have automatic shut-off, and most come with variable speeds.

The biggest con of a HoMedics humidifier is reliability with their cheaper models and personal humidifiers. Given the short 1-year warranty and some of the poor reviews on those models, there are better places to turn for an affordable cool mist humidifier.
