They are a brand that has received high marks from consumers in a number of areas, and they also produce a series of affordable high capacity dehumidifiers.

While hOmeLabs doesn’t have as many dehumidifiers in their arsenal as other companies, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. You won’t have to deal with an overwhelming amount of model numbers with hOmeLabs, and three out of four of their systems are almost identical in appearance.

The hOmeLabs HME20031N dehumidifier for extra-large rooms and basements is the company’s largest system. It has a removal rate of 50 pints per day by the current standards, which means it was previously listed as a 70-pint system. The design is modern so that it will go with the flow in any room but won’t take up much space. This system measures 24.3”H x 15.4”D x 11”W with a weight of 40 pounds empty.

This dehumidifier has two speeds with a rating of 165 CFM during regular usage and 188 CFM while using Turbo Mode. The hOmeLabs HME20031N is listed with a 1.8-gallon water bucket on their official site, although we have seen it listed at 1.6 gallons through a few online retailers. If your home doesn’t have enough moisture for a 50-pint system, the HME20006N could be a better option for your home.

At first glance, the hOmeLabs HME20006N for large rooms and basements appears to be identical to the HME20031N. Well, that’s not an optical illusion as they have the exact same design. In fact, the systems are the same size and weight and have the same CFM rating. The only difference is that the HME20006N is rated at 35 pints per day by current standards, which makes it suitable for rooms between 1,500 and 3,000 square feet.

The hOmeLabs HME20030N is another attractive alternative billed a dehumidifier for medium to large rooms. It has a capacity of 22 pints per day by the 2020 standards. It also has a smaller 1-gallon bucket compared to its siblings but is quite capable of handling areas up to 1,500 square feet. This dehumidifier has the same features as the previous models but is lighter at 30 pounds and slightly smaller, measuring 19.7”H x 15.2”D x 10”W.

hOmeLabs HME020018N

At this time, the company only has one other model listed with the hOmeLabs HME020018N. It’s a small space dehumidifier with a completely different design and a removal rating of 9 ounces or 250 ml of moisture per day. This compact machine has a 16-ounce water tank and leaves a small footprint behind at only 8.5”H x 6.5”W x 5.3”D.

hOmeLabs Dehumidifier Features

As you can see, there aren’t many models to choose from with hOmeLabs, and most of their machines are quite similar. Those similarities extend to the feature department as well. That means you’ll find standard features on their large systems like auto shut-off, defrost, and a 24-hour timer.

All these systems have wheels and built-in handles as well, which makes them easy to move from room to room despite the weight. Other standard features include a washable filter, auto-restart, and a touch-based control panel. All three have drain ports, are UL listed and Energy Star certified.

With the smaller hOmeLabs HME020018N, the features are a bit limited. It has an auto-off function and a full bucket indicator, but that’s about is in regards to the features. Consumers did find it quiet, however, thanks to the thermoelectric Peltier module. On the downside, you will need to ensure it’s located in a room at least 59°F or higher to function correctly.

hOmeLabs Dehumidifier Reviews

While the company may not have a large selection, it’s not hard to find verified reviews of their products. In our research, we discovered that hOmeLabs dehumidifier reviews have largely positive ratings across the board. Reviews on Amazon, Walmart, and their official site were all glowing, which meant we needed to dig a little deeper.

When you see a brand or product with an overwhelming number of positive reviews, sometimes it’s too good to be true. That does not seem to be the case with hOmeLabs, however, as the biggest knock on their systems was related to the noise level and water bucket. Those are two areas that can be deal-breakers for some consumers, but shouldn’t be with hOmeLabs.

There were a number of consumers that felt their dehumidifier could be quieter, although no one thought it was annoying or too loud. With the water bucket, it’s not as well-designed as systems from other brands, so you may spill a little water when removing the bucket if it’s completely full. Overall, consumers were pleased with the company’s dehumidifiers and felt they performed as advertised and provide a lot of bang for the buck.

hOmeLabs Dehumidifiers Replacement Parts

We are big fans of any company that allows you to purchase replacement parts for their systems. Dehumidifiers aren’t exactly cheap and are also known to break down, so the ability to pick up spare parts can save you a lot of money down the line. Unfortunately, you will have a hard time acquiring hOmeLabs dehumidifier parts.

We were unable to find any company selling parts for hOmeLabs dehumidifiers. They don’t have them listed through their official site, although it’s still possible to replace certain parts with third-party alternatives if you know what you are doing. For most homeowners, that isn’t an option, which is why it’s always important to pay close attention to the warranty.

hOmeLabs Dehumidifier Warranties

hOmeLabs has one of the better warranty programs around, especially given the affordable nature of their systems. They will provide consumers with a 30-day money-back guarantee for any reason, but each dehumidifier is also backed by a 2-year warranty. When you register your product on the company’s website, they will add an extra six months to that guarantee.

The company will cover repair costs during the warranty period with the usual stipulations. They also have a solid contact system in place as well. You can reach out through email or a chat service on their site, but toll-free phone calls are also an option. That includes weekends, which is a bonus considering there’s no good time for a dehumidifier problem to arise.

Pros and Cons of hOmeLabs Dehumidifiers

It may seem like hOmeLabs is the brand to beat based on our hOmeLabs dehumidifier review. While it’s true, they have a lot going for them; it’s still a wise idea to weigh the pros and cons to see how they stack up against other brands.

hOmeLabs Dehumidifier Pros

It can be hard to find reputable reviews with some dehumidifier brands, but not with hoMeLabs. As mentioned, most consumer reviews are positive, and the reasonable price tags on their units are part of the reason why. The company’s systems have a high degree of reliability compared to similar brands, and homeowners found hOmeLabs dehumidifiers easy to dump and use. We feel their systems are an excellent choice for medium to extra-large living spaces.

hOmeLabs Dehumidifier Cons

The biggest problem you’re likely to have with the company’s lineup is the lack of “extra” features. While they have Turbo mode and a few other nice additions, none of their dehumidifiers have a pump. Many companies have at least one model with a built-in pump, but given the small size of their current catalog, it’s not surprising.

hOmeLabs Dehumidifier Pricing and Availability

You won’t need to take out a loan to purchase a dehumidifier from hOmeLabs as their systems are affordably priced and easy to acquire. You can purchase dehumidifiers direct from the company or online through Amazon or Walmart. Local options are somewhat limited, although we found most Walmarts in our area had at least one model available or a ship to store option.
